“The Promise Fulfilled” (Luke 1:5-38)
How can we know that John the Baptist and Jesus Christ were the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy? How can we trust in the promises of God? What does it look like to truly be a servant of the Lord? How can we find contentment in this life?
In his sermon, “The Promise Fulfilled,” centered on Luke 1:5-38, Pastor Josiah answered these questions and others as he shared how we can trust in God’s promises because He is faithful to do what He said he would do. As Christians, it’s important that we follow God’s instructions and look to Christ for our contentment, not just at Christmas, but throughout the entire year.

“A Final Promise” (Malachi 3:1-6 & 4:1-6)
How would those living 2000 years ago know that Christ was the Messiah? What signs were they looking for? Who was the Elijah that would prepare the way for Christ’s arrival? And how can we know for sure that Christ will return again one day?
In his sermon, “A Final Promise,” centered on Malachi 3:1-6 & 4:1-6, Pastor Josiah Walker addressed these questions as he shared how the birth of Christ was foretold through the prophet Malachi and showed how John the Baptist was a servant of Christ and a messenger of the kingdom.

“The Gospel Prevails” (Acts 11:27-12:25)
What do we do when it appears that all hope is lost? How should we respond when we are persecuted for our faith? What does it look like to trust God and truly rely on Him?
In his sermon, “The Gospel Prevails,” centered on Acts 11:27-12:25, Pastor Josiah answers these questions and others as he shares how like Peter and the first-century church we can turn to Christ, place our faith in Him and trust that He will always be there for us.
No matter what difficulties we face in this life, we know that Christ builds his church and that the gospel will always prevail!

“Factions & Family” (Acts 11:1-30)
What happens when people join our church who are different than we are? How should we react when other believers have different preferences or opinions about various matters than we do? Are Christians allowed to associate with people who aren’t like them?
In his sermon, “Factions & Family,” centered on Acts 11:1-30, Pastor Jeff Winters (Guest Preacher) addressed these questions as he shared how as Christians, we are commanded to share the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone and be obedient to the Spirit’s leading as Jesus saves a people for himself.
In the Church of Christ there is no such thing as second-class members. As believers, each one of us has been redeemed by Christ regardless of our differences. Therefore, we should ensure that there are no isolating factions or destructive behaviors among our brothers and sisters but rather be committed to following Jesus as a faithful family of believers.

“The Gospel Reach” (Acts 9:32-10:48)
Are Christians still required to follow the dietary restrictions outlined in the Old Testament? How did food restrictions hinder the advancement of the gospel to the Gentiles? How did God use complimentary visions to show Peter that what God has called clean, we cannot call unclean.
In his sermon, “Gospel Reach,” centered on Acts 9:32-10:48, Pastor Josiah answered these questions and others as he shared how God used complimentary visions to show Peter that what God has called clean, we cannot call unclean.

“Chosen & Sent” (Acts 9:1-31)
What does it look like to be chosen by God? How do we know if we have been sent by him to spread the gospel? How can we be equipped with the tools necessary to share good news with others?
In his sermon, “Chosen & Sent,” centered on Acts 9:1-31, Pastor Jeff Winters (Guest Preacher) answers these questions by sharing how Saul, later called Paul, was chosen by God to share the gospel and advance God’s Kingdom to the ends of the earth.
Because of Paul’s faithfulness to answer God’s call and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading, the church in Judea and the surrounding areas grew as the people were strengthened by the Lord. In the same way, when we too are obedient to God’s commands, those around us can be encouraged and strengthened in their faith just like we see in the book of Acts.
“No Boundaries” (Acts 8:4-8:40)
What does it look like to be faithful in the face of persecution? How can we equip ourselves with the tools necessary to share the gospel? How can we best advance the gospel across social and ethnic barriers?
In his sermon, “No Boundaries,” centered on Acts 8:4-40, Pastor Josiah answered these questions and others as he showed how Philips commitment to be faithful, reliable, available and teachable helped advance the gospel to the ends of the earth.

“Faithful Endurance” (Acts 6:8-8:3)
How should we respond in the face of persecution? How do we faithfully serve Christ regardless of how others treat us? How do we hold on to hope even when it seems like the whole world is closing in on us?
In his sermon, “Faithful Endurance,” centered on Acts 6:8-8:3, Pastor Josiah answered these questions and others like them as he talked about the importance of imitating Christ in every aspect of our lives.
Just like the faithful example that we see from Stephen in Acts, we, too, can practice what it means to follow Christ with all our hearts as we seek to be a people that are full of the Holy Spirit, filled with God’s word, and fixed on Christ.

“The Spirit-Filled Seven” (Acts 6:1-7)
What happens when conflict breaks out in the church? How can we peacefully resolve issues with fellow believers? Why is it important to squash grumblings in the church before the gossip spreads? How can disagreements in the church affect our witness in the community?
In his sermon “The Spirit-Filled Seven,” centered on Acts 6:1-7, Pastor Josiah answered these questions and others like them as he explained the importance of being unified as a church around the gospel. Whenever issues or problems arise in the church, it is important that we seek reconciliation and understanding with others.
If left unchecked, small frustrations can become huge disagreements that split the church and destroy our Christian witness in the community. It is important that as believers, we look to Christ and seek to be more like him each day.

“Kingdom Builders” (Acts 4:32-5:11)
Can the Gospel ever be thwarted? Can God ever fail? Can the Christian trust that God will see His Will accomplished?
Robbie Tschorn answers these questions and more in the sermon “God Cannot Be Stopped” (Acts 5:12-42).
God is always moving whether we see it or not. When opposition arises outside of and even within the church, the Christian can rest assured that God’s power will forever be on display and that He will see to it that the Good News of Jesus be advanced. Because of this, the Believer can have confident trust in the Lord - not letting worry over take them - and be empowered by the fact that God can and will use them to accomplish His will.

“Kingdom Builders” (Acts 4:32-5:11)
What does it look like to build the Kingdom of God? What happens when we start to build our own kingdom in opposition to God’s kingdom? How should we view the Holy Spirit in relation to the rest of the triune godhead?
In his sermon, “Kingdom Builders,” centered on Acts 4:32-5:11, Pastor Josiah answers these questions and others as he unpacks the story of Ananias and Sapphira and their deceitfulness.
As Christians, it is important that we remain united around the gospel and put God first in every aspect of our lives.

“Go Boldly” (Acts 3:1-4:31)
How were Christ’s apostles able to stand firm against opposition from the religious rules and leaders of their day? How can we as Christians boldly proclaim the gospel in situations that are overwhelming or intimidating? How does the Holy Spirit equip and empower us for the work of ministry? What role does prayer play when it comes to our gospel witness?
In his sermon, “Go Boldly,” centered on Acts 3:1-4:31, Pastor Josiah answers these questions as he shows through God’s word how the Holy Spirit, accompanied by Peter and John’s faithfulness, equipped them to boldly proclaim the gospel regardless of the circumstances.
The Holy Spirit that empowered the apostles with the courage and strength to faithfully proclaim the gospel in the face of opposition and persecution is the same Holy Spirit that is alive and active in every believer, working to equip us to be bold in our proclamation and stand firm in our faith today.

“The Promise Fulfilled” (Acts 2:1-47)
What happened when the Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost? How were 3,000 people saved and added to the church that day? What does it look like to be a devoted follower of Christ?
In his sermon, “The Promise Fulfilled,” centered on Acts 2:1-47, Pastor Josiah answered these questions as he shared how the promise of the Holy Spirit was fulfilled at Pentecost as believers were empowered to speak in different languages to all those who had traveled from around the world to gather in Jerusalem.
Pastor Josiah also shared how, as Christians, we should be a people who are devoted to God and willing to serve Him. It is through our devotion to Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit that we are able to proclaim the hope of the gospel to the lost and see people rescued from darkness and find new life in Christ. No matter where we go, the world should be fascinated by our love for Christ and sincere devotion for Him.

“The Waiting Room” (Acts 1:12-26)
What are the requirements necessary for being called as an apostle? Do apostles still exist in the church today? What did Jesus’ followers do while they waited on the Holy Spirit to come?
In his sermon, “The Waiting Room,” centered on Acts 1:12-26, Pastor Josiah answered these questions and others as he shared from God’s word the important work that the apostles completed as they waited on the helper to arrive.
Pastor Josiah also shared how as modern-day Christians it is important that we are persistent in prayer and focused on Christ as we seek the Lord’s will and direction for our lives. Otherwise, when the storms of life rage around us, we will find ourselves struggling to stay afloat and survive the painful battles that life brings our way.

“Mission Possible” (Acts 1:1-11)
How old is the Christian church? How did the church even start? What happened to Christ’s apostles after Christ ascended into Heaven? Who is actually qualified to share the gospel?
In his sermon “Mission Possible,” centered on Acts 1:1-11, Pastor Josiah answered these questions as he shared how God builds His church through the faithful witness of Christian believers.
As Christians, each one of us has been commissioned by Christ to share the gospel everywhere we go so that others can find salvation and true life in Christ the same way that we have. We don’t need a specific blessing or special assignment from the church in order to share the gospel, because as believers, each one of us has been commissioned by Christ to preach the gospel everywhere we go, even to the ends of the earth.

"Be The Church” (1 Timothy 6:17-21)
Is it wrong for a Christian to be rich? What does it look like to be a generous giver? What role should Christians play when it comes to defending God’s word? What does it mean to be entrusted with the gospel?
In his message “Be The Church,” based on 1 Timothy 6:17-21, Pastor Josiah shares how it is important for us to be kingdom minded rather than focused solely on the temporary things of this life, what’s here today and gone tomorrow.
He also shares how, as Christians, it is important that we guard the truth of the gospel and stand firm on the solid rock of Christ Jesus.

“A Charge to Keep” (1 Timothy 6:11-16)
What does it look like to be a man or woman of God? What roles do confessions or doxologies play in the life of a Christian? How do we fight the spiritual battles that are happening around us? How can we endure to the end?
In his sermon, “A Charge to Keep,” based on 1 Timothy 6:11-16, Pastor Josiah answers these questions and more as he unpacks some of the final instructions and exhortations from Paul to Timothy in the closing of his letter
As Christians, it is important that we not only flee from the things that are evil, but that we also pursue, or run after, the things that are good and draw us closer to God. It is important that each one of us “fights the good fight” as we grab hold of eternity and keep our eyes fixed on Christ.

“Satisfied with Christ” (1 Timothy 6:1-10)
How can we find satisfaction in life? Where does our contentment come from? Are the blessings we receive from God contingent on how godly our lives are? What does it mean to have a “Jesus-Plus” mentality?
In his sermon “Satisfied with Christ,” based on 1 Timothy 6:1-10, Pastor Josiah answers these questions and more as he shares from Paul’s letter to Timothy on how “godliness with contentment is a great gain.”
It is important that we find our contentment in Christ alone and not in the things of this earth. The same false teachings that were causing problems in the church in Ephesus are wreaking havoc in Christian churches today. As a result, it is important that we as Christians, continue to guard the gospel and defend the truth found in God’s word.

“Honoring Others Honors God” (1 Timothy 5:1-6:2)
What does honoring each other look like in the Bible? Who are the true widows? Who is the Church supposed to help?
In his sermon, “Honoring Others Honors God” (1 Timothy 5:1-6:2), Robbie Tschorn answers these questions and more as he speaks about the call for believers to honor God by honoring others.
Christians are representatives of Jesus and get the wonderful privilege and opportunity of modeling the Gospel to the world. In 1 Timothy, Paul says that this is accomplished by encouraging everyone, taking care of those in need, looking out for your local Pastor, and honoring those who are in authority over you. These are simple, yet Biblical ways to honor and please God. When a church follows these commands, along with the rest laid out in Paul’s letter, they will be the Church that God intends them to be.
